Donna Elaine (Shoop) Misiura, 79, Sinking Valley, died early Tuesday morning at the Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Orville E. and Nannie E.(Bollinger) Shoop. She was married twice: first to Gerald W. Otto, and then to Walter Misiura, who preceded her in death in 2002. Surviving are four children: Elaine Langley of Conway, AR, Lynn Otto of Glen Allen, VA, Gerald Otto of Cornelius, OR, and Nancy Holloway of Lansing, MI; four grandsons, one granddaughter, and four great-granddaughters. Donna was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School, and also the Altoona Beauty School in 1971. Other than being a homemaker, she was a hairdresser and cosmetologist for many years. She was active in many areas, including in the Travelers Protective Association, Johnstown Post V, serving in positions at the state and local level. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3, the AAHS Alumni Association, and the AAHS 1950 Reunion Committee. She loved to entertain friends and family in her home, enjoyed flower gardening, and travelling. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 AM until 11 AM Friday, March 16, 2012, at Faith United Church of Christ, 711 7th Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM, with Pastor John L. Emig, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
