Lois E. Miller, 89, Valley View Home, formerly of Greenwood, died Wednesday. She was born in Hooversville, daughter of Alton and Ida Wilt. She married J. Allen Miller on Oct. 19, 1947, in Altoona, and he died Feb. 24, 1997. Surviving are two daughters: Gail Montgomery (George) and Dawn Porter (Howard Weigand), both of Altoona; two granddaughters: Jessica Crownover (Mike) and Rachel Stoltz (Herb), both of Altoona; three great-grandchildren: Max, Mya and Mason; and two siblings: Janet Johnson and Martin Wilt (Barb), both of Altoona. She also had a close relationship with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Porter. Lois retired from the Coating Department of Sylvania after 40 years of service. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and was very active in the work of the church her whole life. She loved her Greenwood church family, and she also enjoyed boating at Raystown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Greenwood United Methodist Church, Pastor Joseph Fleck officiating.
