Paul P. Grum Sr.

Paul Peter Grum Sr., 86, Altoona, died Sunday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Walter and Alice (Boyles) Grum. He married Alice Mary Matlack on Dec. 15, 1946, in Altoona. She died Jan. 30, 1993. Surviving are three sons: Paul P. Jr. (Maryellen) of Hollidaysburg, Walter J. (Linda) of Altoona and John R. (Jen) of Carlsbad, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Grum was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired as a laborer from PennDOT. Paul enjoyed watching sports and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
