Esther F. Diehl

Esther F. Diehl, 90, Golden LivingCenter-Hillview, died Tuesday morning at Altoona Regional. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Fred and Bertha (Woods) Smith. She married Ralph E. Diehl Sr. on April 24, 1943, in Brookes Mills, and he died in 1998. Surviving are two sons: Ralph E. Jr. (Toni) of Altoona and Donald W. (Wendy) in Maryland; four grandchildren: Jay, Heather, Michael and Morgan; three great-grandchildren; a daughter: Doreen Slevin (Paul) in Arizona and a sister Betty Beltz of Hollidaysburg. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Sadie, Blanche and Emily. Esther had been employed at Penn State Altoona. She made the best out of what life presented her and always had a good outlook. Friends will be received from 10a.m. to 11:30a.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, followed by a funeral service at 11:30a.m..
