Dorsey B. Lonsinger, 68, Altoona, died Monday evening at Altoona Regional. He was born in Altoona, son of Edward and Dora (Weld) Lonsinger. He married Barbara A. Stotler on Sept. 12, 1975. Surviving are his wife; two children: Cristy and Dorsey W. and wife, Nicole, all of Altoona; five grandchildren: Tyler, Kylee, Alyssa, Ashlee and Samantha; Mike Lockard, who was like a son; five brothers: Edward and wife, Rita, Alan and wife, Janice, Rodger and wife, Nancy, Gordon and wife, Jane, and Gary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Mickle. Dorsey was a graduate of Altoona High School. He had been employed as a corrections officer at the Blair County Prison and also as a security guard at the Department of Public Welfare, Altoona. His grandchildren were his life, and he loved his family. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m. by Pastor Jon Neely.
