Sharon Kaye Cooper, 65, Altoona, died Friday afternoon at her home, following a very brief illness. She was born in Juniata, daughter of the late William Roy and Emily Grace (O'Donnell) Troutman. She married Norman P. Cooper on Oct. 5, 1963, in Juniata. Surviving are her husband, Norman; two daughters: Tammy J. Showalter of Robesonia, Pa., Dreamalynn Gauntner of Herndon, Va.; four grandsons: Seth A. Showalter and Alex T. Showalter, both of Robesonia, Pa., Steven E. Gauntner and Michael A. Gauntner, both of Sterling, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Hayden Sieczkowski in Virginia; a sister, Sandra Blair, of Altoona; and a dear friend, Kate Legarski, of Altoona. She was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Troutman. Sharon had worked as a meat wrapper for various markets in the area, last working at Weis Market, Park Hills Plaza. She was of the Lutheran faith, and she enjoyed vacations in Canada, spending time with her grandsons and her beloved Beagle, Princess. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John P. Klingeman officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boystown, Father Flanagans Boys Home, Boystown, NE, 68010; or American Cancer Society.
