Sheldon H Swengle

Sheldon H. Swengle, 95, of Owasso, Oklahoma, died Saturday, December 22, 2012. He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Charles Vallerchamp and Edith V. Swengle. He married L. Jane Baerr in Altoona June 25, 1949. Surviving is his wife Jane; his son Craig Swengle and his wife Tammy of Owasso, OK, two grandchildren: Jared Swengle and his fiancée Tristen Rizzo of Shawnee, OK, and Nicole Swengle of Owasso OK; three sisters in law: Doris Bearr of Altoona, Helen Laulor and her husband Richard of Alexandria, VA, and Barbara Bearr of San Antonio, TX. Sheldon was raised in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School. After marrying Jane, they made their home in Middletown prior to their move to Oklahoma. While in Middletown, he was active in many committees at his church. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and then went on to work at Olmstead Air force Base in many positions within the maintenance division including the Chief of Maintenance. Friends will be received from 10:30 until the 11AM service Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. Interment at Asbury Cemetery.
