Mary A. Waddell, 99, Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Juniata, died Thursday at Homewood. She was born in Preston County, W.Va., daughter of the late William and Nora (Woodward) Lawrence. She married Frank Waddell on Oct. 21, 1988, in Juniata, and he preceded her in death. Surviving are four children: Robert Donham (Rosalie) in West Virginia, Betty Shaneyfelt (Harry) of Altoona, Nora Keller of Duncansville and Walter Brannen (Barbara) of Blakeslee; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Brannen; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Dennis Keller. Mary was a homemaker and previously had worked in sales at numerous department stores in Altoona. She was a member of the Juniata Civic Association and Restored Apostolic Ministries. At one time, she had enjoyed the Jolly 60s group at Riggles Gap Bible Church. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the 11 AM memorial service Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, with family clergy members conducting services. Interment will be at Antis Cemetery.
