Judith Elizabeth Fisher, 71, Altoona, died Saturday at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Arthur and Alphretta (Steele) Gailey. She married John Earl Fisher Jr., and they celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 10, 2012. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her husband; four children: Kevin Fisher (Shelley) of Juniata, Douglas Fisher (Diana) of Juniata, Kenneth Fisher and friend, Leslie, of Cresson and Rebecca McConnell (Scott) of Juniata; seven grandchildren: Brian Fisher, Stacey Fisher, Shelby Fisher, Kimberly Fisher, Zachary McConnell, Nathaniel McConnell and Matthew Fisher; two great-grandchildren: Westley Zitch and Owen Hofer; four sisters: Margaret, Carol, Charlotte and Dorothy; and a brother, Arthur. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas and George; and a sister, Vivian. Judy was a member of Grace United Church of Christ. She was a 1959 graduate of Altoona Area High School, and after graduation, she worked at Puritan, Riverside Market and Altoona Hospital. She was involved in the Red Hats Society and founder and proud member of the class of '59 "Mixed Nuts." Judy enjoyed reading, playing pogo on the computer and line dancing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
