Doris M. Grum, 82, Altoona, died Wednesday morning at Altoona Regional after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Prince Albert and Irene M. (Barr) Berry. She married John P. Grum on May 29, 1949, and he died Jan. 27, 2012. Surviving are four daughters: Denise Wagner and husband, Larry, J.P. Richardella and husband, Joe, Teresa Grum and Deborah Lane and husband, Bill, all of Altoona; three grandchildren: Ashley Schroeder and husband, Ryan, Jenna Richardella and fiance, Ryan, and Joshua Wagner and fiancee, Rebecca Johnson; and multiple brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Doris graduated from Altoona High School. She was a homemaker and had been employed at Butterick Co. Inc. and as a cafeteria worker at Altoona Area School District. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and she was a Jeff Gordon and NASCAR fan. She enjoyed camping. Doris will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to taking care of her daughter Teresa. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, and 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, the Rev. Eli Hess officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
