Charles W. "Chuck" Miller, 77, Altoona, died Saturday evening at home. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Charles and Mary (Burk) Miller. He married Marcelle Patterson on Nov. 6, 1953, in Winchester, Va. Surviving are his wife of 59 years; two sons: Charles E. and wife, Patricia, and Jeffrey D. and wife, Denise; a son-in-law, Arnold Perry; six grandchildren: Ty Miller, who grew up with Charles and Marcelle, Christine Antonelli and husband, Chris, Michelle Trunk and husband, Mike, Jacqueline Perry, Nathan Miller and Cody Miller; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Raymond and Gerald, both of Altoona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcelle L. Perry; and a brother, Francis. Chuck was a graduate of Altoona High School and had served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He retired from Bell Telephone as a lineman after many years of service. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Bellwood, the Swiss Rifle Club, Unter Uns and Bavarian Aid Society, and he enjoyed gardening. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
