Joanne L Nixon

Joanne L. Nixon, 81, of 1707 S. Ninth St., Altoona, died Saturday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles R. and Naomi M. (Hobba) Loucks. She married Pastor Charles W. Nixon Sr. on March 17, 1950. Joanne was a beloved wife and a devoted loving mother. Surviving are eight children: Charles W. Jr. and wife, Eileen, of Northfield, N.J., Stephen J. Sr. and wife, Tina, of Scullville, N.J., Dennis E. Sr. and wife, Lorie, of Altoona, Ruth A. Troutman and husband, Ralph Sr., of Altoona, Linda K. Hartman and husband, Thomas Sr., of Philadelphia, Douglas W. and wife, Valerie, of Altoona, Debra J. at home and Kenneth A. Sr. and wife, Joyce, of Altoona; a son-in-law, Pastor Lon A. Feaser; 56 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Kenneth W. Yeager Sr. of Philadelphia, Warren K. Yeager Sr. of Altoona and James Yeager Sr. of Philadelphia; and a sister, Edna Kane of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Nancy C. Feaser. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, and 9 until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday, March 1, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, Pastor Warren Yeager officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
