Christopher Michael Lion, 37, Altoona, died Monday morning at Altoona Regional. He was born in Montgomery, Md., son of the late Robert B. Jr. and Patricia A. (Shaw) Lion. He married Teri L. on June 17, 2000, at Juniata United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Corey Joseph of Altoona; a sister, Cheryl Delancey; two nephews: C.J. and Joseph Delancey; his mother-in-law, Nancy Fornwalt and husband, Tom, of Altoona; his father-in-law, John T. Hembrey and wife, Ethel, of Louisville, Ky.; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 10 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Christopher was a 1994 graduate of Altoona Area High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was employed as a sergeant at State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale. He was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 238. Christopher was a second dan/instructor with the World Tang Soo Do Association. He enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley, and he was a member of the "Yuengling Brothers." He contributed to four others' lives with his gift through the Center for Organ Recovery & Education. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, and 2 until the 3 p.m. funeral service Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Juniata United Methodist Church, the Rev. Brent Salsgiver officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family Life Center, c/o Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N. Fourth St., Altoona, PA 16601, in memory of Christopher.
