John R Freidhof Sr.

John R. Freidhof Sr., 60, Altoona, died Monday morning at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, after a bout with cancer. He was born in Altoona, son of Margaret (Scott) Freidhof and the late Joseph Henry Freidhof. He married Carol M. Predoehl on July 3, 2010, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Misty Giordano (Mark) of Altoona; a son, J.R. Freidhof Jr. of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Spotts of Hartsdale, N.Y.; a stepson, Steven Spotts (Misty) of Philipsburg; his mother of Portage; two grandchildren: Cody and Haley; four step-grandchildren: Shianna, Aydin, Trenton and Connor; two sisters: Linda Lockard and Ann Anderson; and two brothers: Dave and Dan. He was preceded in death by his father on May 23, 1973. John was a graduate of Altoona High School and worked for Imler's Poultry as an over-the-road truck driver. His CB handle was "Johnny Reb." He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating and really loved cars. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church, the Rev. Ronald Anderson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 810 Ruskin Drive, Altoona, PA 16602. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata.
