Betty A. Anesko, 84, formerly of Coleridge Avenue, Altoona, and of State College, died Tuesday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview. She was born in West Leesport, daughter of the late Charles S. and Mary M. (Bell) Minich. She married Lawrence L. Anesko on Nov. 28, 1953, in State College. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Kathleen M. Anesko and husband, Dwight de Stefan, of River Vale, N.J.; a son, Michael W. of State College; a grandson, Zachary Aleksandur de Stefan of River Vale; a sister, Lucille Wolslayer of Port Matilda; a nephew, Gary Page of Port Matilda; and two grand-nephews: Shawn and Chad Kauffman, both of State College. Betty was a member of Llyswen United Methodist Church, Altoona, where she sang in the choir, and she was a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College. She was also an assistant Brownie troop leader in State College. She was a member and past president of both the Juniata and State College VFW Auxiliary, and she also served as past president of District 22. Betty's hobbies included music, especially classical jazz and rhythm and blues vocals and piano, gardening, baking and pets. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, the Rev. Charles Baughman officiating. Interment will be at Hublersburg Cemetery, Centre County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E.
