Gladys M. McNamara

Gladys M. McNamara, 94, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Monday evening at the home. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Christian and Melinda (Heisler) Berry. She married Donald L. McNamara on Oct. 5, 1940, in Altoona, and he died Aug. 30, 1993. Surviving are three grandchildren: Jeffrey McNamara of Middletown, Stephanie Gallo of Hershey and Mark McNamara of Middletown; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Constance McNamara. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald F., in 2002. Gladys retired in 1981 as a nurse's aide at the former Mercy Hospital in Altoona. Private committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata.
