Paul M. Rockwell, 86, of Belleview, Fla., formerly of Altoona, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning. He was born in Sayre, Pa., son of the late Paul L. and Mildred E. (Bidlack) Rockwell. He married Carol A. Matlack on Aug. 14, 1979, in Winchester, Va. Surviving are his wife, Carol; two sons: Gary Rockwell and Brian Rockwell, both of Owego, N.Y.; a daughter, Brenda Catlin, of Barton, N.Y.; a brother, David Eugene Rockwell, of Halsey Valley, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Rockwell; and a daughter, Ashley Coleen Rockwell. Paul retired as a quality control supervisor at Conrail after 15 years of service. Prior to that, he was a machinist with Lehigh Valley Railroad for about five years. He also worked as an automotive and truck mechanic for 35 years. Paul served in the United States Navy during World War II and was of the Baptist faith. He was a life member of the International Machinists Union and a life member of the American Legion. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald R. Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
