Dolores J. Ake, 79, of Altoona, died Tuesday morning at UPMC-Altoona. She was born in Juniata, a daughter of the late Martin L. and Helen Jeanne (Williams) Lockard. She married Frank C. Ake on May 28, 1954. Surviving is her husband of almost 60 years, one daughter, Cynthia A. Rabold (Allan) of Altoona, two sons, Clifford E. Ake (Alberta) of Altoona, Ronald M. Ake (Linda) in South Carolina, four grandchildren, Allison L. Ake, Addie J. Rabold, Allie G. Rabold, Melissa Fish (Jay), three great grandchildren, Emma Fish, Joseph Fish and Jaden Fish. Also surviving is sister in law, Margaret Lockard in Delaware and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory A. Ake in 1989 and a brother Richard G. Lockard. She was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, Class of 1952. Prior to raising her family, she worked as a spot welder at GTE-Sylvania. Dolores was an avid bowler and loved gardening, crocheting and knitting. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and was fondly called "Mom" by everyone that knew and loved her. She was completely devoted to her family and extended families. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday, November 29, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 to 11am Saturday at Juniata United Methodist Church where a funeral service will begin at 11am with Rev. Brent Salsgiver, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
