She was preceded in death by a brother, John Karstetter. Pauline was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Boyer's Candy Co. prior to becoming a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Simpson-Temple United Parish, and also volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Pauline enjoyed playing bridge, socializing at Park Hills and listening to jazz, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at the Simpson-Temple United Parish, 2212 Sixth Ave., Altoona, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor Denise Arpino.
