Martha K. McCoy Fissel

Martha K. McCoy Fissel, 71, of Hollidaysburg, went to be with the Lord Friday at Homewood of Martinsburg. Known as Marty, she was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Eugene Allen and Pauline Agnes (Elder) Smeal. She was thrice married, first to John McCoy who died in 1994, then to Benjamin Williams who died in 2002, then on January 8, 2005, she married John M. Fissel. Surviving are her husband, four sons, John and wife Lisa of Lititz, Bryan, Eric and wife Lori, Ian and wife Heather, all of Duncansville, 13 grandchildren, one step-daughter, Patricia P. Bode of Berlin, Germany, one step grandson, two sisters, Jacqueline Abram of New York and Nancy Hollingsworth in California. She was preceded in death by a sister Jean Stewart and a daughter in law, Ualani McCoy. Marty was a member of Puzzletown Bible Church, Newry, and was a former member of Grace Brethren Church, Juniata where she was active in the senior church group, Primetimers, and was active in Church Missions. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, class of 1960. Marty enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday, February 7, 2014, and from 10-11am Saturday at Puzzletown Bible Church where a service will begin at 11am Saturday, with Pastor Jon Gross, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
