John E. Bush, Sr, 78, of Juniata, died suddenly, Wednesday at UPMC, Altoona. Known as Jack, he was born in Colver, Cambria County, a son of the late Rueben P. and Catherine (Ball) Bush. He married Dorothy E. Helsel on September 30, 1955 in Coalport. Surviving are his wife of more than 58 years, one son, John E. Jr., and wife Lisa of Juniata, two daughters, Karen Farber and husband Tim of Creekside, Martha Jones and husband Scott of Tipton, one nephew, Bernard Joseph Braniff who was raised in the home, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one sister, Betty Bickford and husband Paul of Flinton, PA. Jack served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. His hobbies included working on cars and gardening. He retired as a meter reader for the City of Altoona Parking Authority. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday, February 17, 2014 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, February 18, 2014, with Rev. John P. Klingeman, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
