James C Cessna

James Carl Cessna, 89, Altoona, died Thursday night at Valley View Home. He was born in Gypsy, son of the late Lloyd and Alta Mae (Bennett) Cessna. He married Frances E. Leonard August 4, 1951. She preceded him in death July 1, 2007. Surviving are: two daughters: Nancy B. Williams of Altoona and Connie C. Beckel of Greensburg; one son Lewis C. Cessna of Altoona, 8 grandchildre, 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mona Kennedy and Minta Dunkel. He was preceded in death by his older brother Howard, and his twin brother Lewis Clair. James was self employed for nearly 53 years as owner and operator of Cessna Barber Shop in Eldorado since 1959.. He was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Caesar Baptiste and Park Hills Country Club. He was an avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, on Monday, March 24 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A Funeral Mass will be held, Tuesday, March 25 at 10 am at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 5514 Roselawn Avenue, Altoona. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Adelphoi Village, 1119 Village Way, Latrobe, PA 15650
