Obituaries / Richard F. Wiseman Jr. Betty J. Alberts Janet C. "Twiggy" Ardizzone, Altoona, passed away Saturday surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Altoona, daughter of William and Verna (Henderson) Davensizer. She married Nicola P. Ardizzone on May 18, 1974. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2002. She is survived by a son, Ricky Smith and wife, Debra; two daughters: Brenda Hamilton and April Smith, both of Altoona; a son, Wayne Smith and wife, April, of Dover, Del.; five grandchildren: Travis Hamilton, Amanda Wible and husband, Scott, Miranda, Rachel and Eric Smith; three great-grandchildren: Jordan, Brayden and Haley; and siblings: William Davensizer and wife, Sharon, of Bellwood, Joan Hampton of Altoona, Beverly Thomas and husband, Bob, of Bellwood, and Diane Good and husband, Rick of Altoona; and a special friend, Deanna Irvin. She was preceded in death by a son, James Smith; a sister, Shirley Bookhammer; and a grandson, Ryan Smith. Twiggy was a former member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She had attended Altoona Area High School. Twiggy was a member of the Juniata VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed Friday night bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
