Maxine H. Perry, 96, went to be with the Lord Friday evening at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone. She was born in Shiloh, PA, a daughter of the late Robert and Maude (Welker) Harrier. She married Ivan C. Perry on June 15, 1939 in State College. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1991. Surviving are three sons, Jay E. (Joan) of Altoona, Robert F. of Tyrone, and Greg D.,(Mary) of Altoona, seven grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother Austin M. Harrier, a sister Ruth Miller and daughter in law, Delores Perry. Mrs. Perry retired as a third grade school teacher at Lincoln Elementary School and Grazierville Elementary School in the Tyrone Area School District following 26 years service. Prior to that she taught in the Clearfield School District for 5 ½ years. She was the oldest living member of Greenwood United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Tyrone Eastern Star, and a lifetime member of the Sinking Valley Grange. She enjoyed going to her sons baseball games and playing cards with the Sinking Valley women. Prior to her husband's death she enjoyed her yearly trips to Flagler Beach, Florida. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday, April 16, 2014 with Pastor Duane J. Coy, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
