Joanne G Zettle

Joanne G. Zettle, 80, of Altoona, died Friday evening at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Wilfred E. and Florence A. (Shaffer) Dollar. She married Howard L. Zettle on February 9, 1955, in Richmond, VA. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2007. Surviving is her son, Craig H. Zettle of Altoona, two grandchildren, Zachary J. Zettle of Pittsburgh, Anna E. Zettle of Altoona and one brother, Wilfred "Husky" Dollar of Altoona, In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janine Zettle. She was a graduate of Altoona High School and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Joanne was a member of Simpson-Temple United Parish and over the years was active in various church activities. During her working years, she was a Department Manager at Value City Furniture, Altoona. Private graveside services were held at the convenience of the family at Grandview Cemetery, with Rev. Denise Arpino, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
