Shirley M Dietzel

Shirley M. Dietzel, 79, Altoona, passed away Thursday evening at the Golden Living Center-Hillview. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Freda (Weyer) Hartman. She married Edward W. Dietzel on June 27, 1953 in Altoona, he preceded her in death on April 11, 2001. She was employed by Gables as a credit office employee and a graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church and a former member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons: Edward J., Terry R., Gary J. and wife Lisa, all of Altoona, and Larry B. and wife Kathy of Bellwood; six grandchildren; Gary Ray, Jared, Michael and Brian all of Altoona, David of York, and Kathleen Bickford of Ebensburg; 7 great-grandchildren and a special niece, Sandy Woleslagle. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry J. and a sister, Thelma Lear. Family and friends will be received Monday, June 23 from 4 to 8 pm at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue. A service will be held at 8 pm following the visitation. Reverend Brent Salsgiver will be officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 North 4th Street, Altoona, PA 16601.
