Elizabeth G. Nuzzi

Elizabeth G. Nuzzi, 77, of Altoona, died Tuesday morning at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of the late Edgar A. and Minnie E. (Libby) Brown. She married Robert J. Nuzzi who preceded her in death on October 18, 1993. Surviving are eight children: John Martell, III, Teresa Ippoliti, Jean Young, Shirley Flaig, John Detwiler, Dominic Nuzzi, Joanne Nuzzi, Katherine Gittle; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two sisters: Jean Gilson and Ann Woods; and niece, Debbie Zurell. After high school, she worked as an LPN at Garvey Manor. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crafting, travelling and also enjoyed musicals and theatre. Friends will be received from 6-8pm today, July 17, 2014, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. A graveside service will be held at 11am Friday, July 18, 2014, at Arch Springs Presbyterian Cemetery, Sinking Valley, with Rev. John P. Klingeman, officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
