Thelma Louise Zeiders Stanley, 100, Lyman, SC, died Tuesday morning at her home. A native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late William Wilson and Elizabeth Magdaline Long Zeiders. Thelma married teenage sweetheart Haven Eugene Stanley on August 27, 1936 and proudly raised seven children during the early years of their 50 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1986. Thelma is retired from J.C. Penney Co., where she was a Custom Decorator Consultant from the Western PA area. Thelma is the last of her family generation and the first to live to 100. Surviving are three sons, Haven Baron Edmund Stanley of Markleysburg, PA, William Scott Stanley of Lyman, S.C. and Mark Hobba Stanley of Greensburg, PA; four daughters, Carole Joan Weiss of Irwin, PA, Betty Jane Wolk of North Lima, OH, Thelma Sandra Miles of Centerville, VA and Alice Mae Escalona of Potomac Falls, VA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Family and friends will be received Monday, August 11 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, from 1 to 3 pm with a funeral service to immediately follow at 3 pm. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
