Anna E Detrich

June 10, 1920 — August 18, 2014

Anna E. Detrich, 94, formerly of Altoona, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday morning at Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg. She was born in Juniata, a daughter of the late Maurice and Margaret (Cline) Brooks. She married James A. Detrich on January 1, 1946, at First Baptist Church, Altoona. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1976. Surviving are three children: Sharon A. Maurer (Carey) of Carlisle, James D. Detrich (Pamela) of Bellefonte, Daniel P. Detrich (Carol) of Hollidaysburg; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and one sister: Verla Eggers. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Miller. Anna was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. She was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School and retired in 1985 from the Altoona Area School District as a teachers aide. Friends will be received, Saturday, August 23, from 9:30 until the 11:30am funeral service at First Baptist Church with Pastor Tyler Pepper, officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1209 17th Street, Altoona, PA 16601.
