R. Scott Pennabaker, 75, of Auburndale, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning at his summer home in Houtzdale. He was born in Bellwood, a son of the late Hayden Albert and Katherine Isabelle (Shaner) Pennabaker. He married Betty Jane Miller on October 10, 1962, in Elkton, Maryland. Surviving is his wife, Betty, of more than 51 years, three children, Jodi Lynn Levins and her husband, David of Winter Haven, Florida, Brent Howard Pennabaker of Auburndale, Florida, Jennifer Jo Gregory and her husband Christopher of Lakeland, Florida, seven grandchildren, Amanda, Savanah, Kathryn, Devin, Aaron, Jeremy, Jacob, two sisters, Edith Cunningham and husband Francis of Hubbard, Ohio, Sondra L. Pennabaker, of Hubbard, Ohio, one brother, William Pennabaker of State College and many nieces and nephews. Scott retired as a cook at Pepperidge Farm after many years service. He was a Navy veteran having served four years active duty from 1958-1962, then two additional years in the Naval Reserve. Friends will be received from 10 to the 11am Service,Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Kevin Howard, officiating. Interment will be in Florida.
