Charlotte E Reid

Charlotte E. Reid, 93, of Juniata Gap, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning, November 25, 2014, at her home. She was born on October 20, 1921, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Leroy W. and Margaretta (Stull) Craw. She married William J. Reid on October 19, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1980. Surviving are three sons, William D. Reid (Adrienne), of Providence Forge, VA, Michael Reid (Susan), of Nashville, TN, Gary A. Reid at home and her beloved daughter-in-law, Karen L. Reid of Altoona, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother, Mike Craw of Altoona and one sister Jane Lingenfelter of Hollidaysburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Moran and a brother, Steve Craw. Charlotte was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked as a cook for the Altoona High School and was head cook at the Penn State Altoona Campus. She was an active member of Mardorf United Methodist Church where she worked on the Family Committee and was a member of the Gleaners Sunday school class. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren,and was an avid sports fan, loving football and baseball. A Memorial Service will be held at Noon, Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Mardorf United Methodist Church on Juniata Gap Road with Pastor Jim House, officiating. Friends will be received from 10am until the noon service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charlotte's memory may be given to the Mardorf United Methodist Church, 3429 Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, PA 16601.
