Beatrice E Finochio

Beatrice E. "Betty" Finochio, 92, passed away late Wednesday evening at the Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. She was best known as "Mummum". Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Elvie and Belva (Walker) Bartow. Twice married, John Harvey Norris, on November 25, 1939, in Altoona, who preceded her in death in 1981 and on June, 21, 1986, she married James G. Finochio, in Altoona. Betty dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized April 19, 1961, as one of Jehovah Witness' and was a member of the local Kingdom Hall South Congregation. She retired from Valley View Home, in the dietary department, and previously worked at Sylvania. Later in life, she completed continuing education as a Nutritionist, at Penn State University, Altoona. She is survived by her husband, James G.; one daughter, Linda Arnsparger and husband, Ralph; one son, Dan Norris and wife, Connie; both of Hollidaysburg; two brothers: Herman Bartow, of Reading and Kenneth Bartow, of AZ; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildren. Through her second marriage, she gained additional family that consists of eight step-children and their families. She was preceded in death by one son, Jon Norris; one sister, Cleona "Toni" Steele, and one brother, Elvie "Bud" Bartow. Receiving of family and friends will be held from 6 until the 6:30 PM memorial service, Sunday, January 11, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, with Brother James Peters officiating. Inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery.
