Donna L. Smith, 78, Emory, TX, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday. Born in Sandy Ridge, daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Sharpless) Redding. She married Donald "Smitty" Smith, on March 5, 1954, he preceded her in death, on September 8, 2006. She is survived by two daughters: Debra Beasom and fiancé, Jeff Lenz, of Altoona and Danice Hewitt and husband, Matt, of Emory, TX; one son: Donnie and wife, Laurie, of Lancaster; five grandsons: Zane and Justin Graham and Boomer, Reed, and Eli Hewitt; three great-grandchildren: Lucas, Jaden, and Kyle. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack. Donna was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as a leader in the Pioneer Girls and Youth Ministries. She loved listening to music, camping, and spending time with her family and friends. She was known as Smiley, for her ever present smile. Family and friends will be received at Calvary Baptist Church, 810 Ruskin Drive, Altoona, Wednesday, January 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and Thursday, January 22, from 10 until the 11 AM funeral service with Cal Wiedemann officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
