Anna S. Chirdon, 93, Altoona, passed away early Wednesday morning at her residence. Born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert W. and Anna (Bankert) Hanna. She married Joseph F. Chirdon, Sr. on May 21, 1943 in Indianapolis, IN who preceded her in death on February 7, 1995 after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by eight children: Anna Marie Moore (Tom), of Gallitzin, Eileen Conrad (Denny), of Altoona, Harry Chirdon (Rae), of Williamsburg, Peggy Kell (Dave), of Altoona, Joe Chirdon (Robin), of Altoona, Bob Chirdon (Cathy), of Dysart, Mary Frontino (Ed), of Altoona, and Theresa Baronner (Randy), of Altoona; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister: Marge Smith; and a brother: Harry Hanna. She was preceded in death by a sister: Betty Gilbride, a brother: Robert Hanna; and a granddaughter: Melanie. Anna was a homemaker and enjoyed casino trips, Wednesday night card club, baking for her grandchildren and knew everyone's favorite cookie. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and Sunday dinners with her family. Family and friends will be received, Sunday, February 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. A funeral mass will be held, Monday, February 16 at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael E. Servinsky officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
