Daniel H. Kingsbury, 91, Altoona, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Valley View Nursing Home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, son of the late Harold Witt and Mary (Carey) Kingsbury. He married Mary Jane (Long) Kingsbury, July 11, 1947, in Landisville, Lancaster Co, PA. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter: Susan Biselli (Mark) of Altoona; one son: Bruce Kingsbury (Carol) of NC; two grandchildren: Julie Rugh (Randall) and Laura Kingsbury; one great-grandchild: Ellie Rugh; a sister-in-law: Alma Kingsbury of Huntsville, AL; and two nephews: Daniel Kingsbury of OH and David Kingsbury of AL. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Kingsbury. Dan was a Penn State University graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and retired as an Industrial Engineer from Philips Corporation. He was member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, formerly 58th Street United Methodist Church, where he was a very active member and served as trustee. Dan was a 50 plus year member of Logan Lodge #290, F & AM; a 50 plus year member of Mountain Royal Arch Chapter #189, where he served as High Priest; a 50 plus year member of Mountain Council #9, where he served as Thrice Illustrious Master; and a 50 plus year member of Mountain Commandery #10. He was an avid gardener; loved reading, especially non-fiction books; and roots for all Penn State teams, the Steelers, and the Phillies. Friends will be received, Friday, February 27, from 11 until noon at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. A private funeral service will be held at the discretion of the family with Pastor Rebecca Harmon officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park.
