Betty J. Weston, 86, passed away late Thursday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Stauter) Steel. She married Robert A. Weston on February 3, 1950 in Altoona, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2012, Betty is survived by four children: Barry W. Weston and wife Darlene, Bonnie L. Dawson, James R. Weston and wife Diane, and John H. Weston and wife Polly, all of Altoona; six grandchildren: Brad Weston and wife Sara, Natalie Perate and husband Christopher, Bellemi and Hunter Dawson, and Johnna and Jenna Weston; two great grandchildren; and two sisters: Ada Mae Blair of Pittsburgh and Margie Ratcliff and husband Ray of Austin, TX. Betty was a 1946 graduate of Altoona High School and retired from Bell Telephone as an operator. She was a member of the Mardorf United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church quilting group. Betty enjoyed sewing, swimming, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, March 15 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, with a memorial service immediately following with Pastor James House officiating. Inurnment at Grandview Cemetery.
