Barbara J. Gerhart

Barbara J. Gerhart, 83, Altoona, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Harry and Ethel (Fulmer) Trout. She married Frederick C. Gerhart on December 10, 1949, in New Bloomfield, PA who preceded her in death on February 14, 2003. Barbara is survived by three daughters: Kathleen A. Haase (Tim), of Alabama, Susan C. Fochler, of Altoona, and Jane E. Gerhart-Bunting (Kenneth), of White Plains, NY; three grandchildren: Jennifer L. Fochler (Ryan Staley), LCPL Einne G. Bunting, and Kiara D. Bunting; and one great grandchild, Kaitlynn I. Staley. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward B. and Kenneth G. Barbara was a member of East End United Methodist and retired from the Altoona School District as a cafeteria aide. Barbara was a craftsman and designer and an avid reader. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 PM, Friday, May 22, 2015 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2015. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
