Robert H. Mallow, 82, of Altoona, died Thursday, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late George D. and Esther M. (Burket) Mallow. He married Mary Jo Hanlon on March 2, 1957, in Cumberland Maryland. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2010. Surviving are six children: Laurie A. McAndrew (Mike), Lori J. McCloskey (Steve), Patricia L. Jurcik (Dennis), Susan R. Kimberly (Matthew), David L. Mallow (Tammie), all of Altoona, and Beth A. Brougham (Chris), of Delaware, OK; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Bob served two years in the 3rd Armored Calvary during the Korean War. He retired as owner of Mallows Service Center, Inc. He was a life member of Riggles Gap Sportsman's Lodge and the Juniata American Legion. He was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School. Friends will be received, Sunday, June 21, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held, Monday, June 22, 2015, at 2 PM, with Rev. Carol L. Gathagan, officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Home Nursing Agency, Hospice Unit, 201 Chestnut Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
