Alison S. Douglas

Alison S. Douglas, 101, died Saturday morning at Homewood at Martinsburg, at the home. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert S. and Emsie (Martin) Douglas. Surviving are two nieces: Margaret Griffis and Jean Smith; and one cousin, Joyce Alsop. She was preceded in death by one brother, John M. Douglas and one sister, Margaret Snyder. Alison had worked at and retired from the Altoona Mirror as a credit manager and assistant circulation manager. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Altoona, a past president of the Soroptimist Club, and had served in Girl Scout leadership. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg, at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Dennis Braun officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
