Shirley M. Langer, 82, Martinsburg, passed away Thursday evening at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born in Falls Creek, PA, a daughter of the late John R. and Teresa E. (Murray) Turk. She married Donald R. Langer, of Altoona, PA, September 15, 1956, in Falls Creek, PA, who preceded her in death on October 12, 2013. She is survived by a son, David B. and wife Eileen, of Lexington, KY; a daughter, Lynn E. Langer and husband Karl Sheaffer, of Duncannon, PA; one granddaughter, Karen Little and husband Tyler, of Durham, NC; a sister, Maxine E. Weed, of Falls Creek, PA; close niece, Kathy Rutter and husband Brian, of Altoona; and other numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was a 1950 graduate of Falls Creek High School and a 1956 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a secretary for N. L. Industries and Fry Metals, was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, and enjoyed reading, needlework, and music. Friends will be received, Monday, July 6, 2015, from 12 until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata with the Pastor Jerry McCuller, of Homewood officiating.
