Rufus Lee Edmonds, 81, Altoona, formerly of Cullman, AL, passed away early Saturday morning at his home. He was born in Cullman, AL, a son of the late Joe and Lois (Russell) Edmonds. He married Donna Jean Mitchell, July 28, 1973 in Altoona, PA. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2006. He is survived by five children: Patrick of Altoona, Michael of Vista, CA, Gina of Altoona, Jarrett of Bellwood, and Daniel of Altoona; ten grandchildren: CJ of Maui, HI, Katie of Vista, CA, Ryan of Altoona, Jason of Williamsburg, VA, Erin of Altoona, Matt of Vista, CA, Dana of Altoona, Paige of Altoona, Courtney of Bellwood, and Angela of Altoona; 19 great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Bailey of Cullman AL. Rufus served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean Era in the 315th Installation Squadron. During service he received the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and ROK Presidential Unit Citation Emblem. He worked for McLanahan Corporation in the foundry department and retired in 1996. He was a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aide Society and enjoyed golfing, bowling, pool, fishing, and hunting. Friends will be received, Wednesday, August, 5, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
