Girard T. Lippert, 76, of Juniata, went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning at the VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Oscar William and Pauline Elizabeth (Bathurst) Lippert. He married Bonnie L. Buchanan, on September 22, 1962, in Altoona. Surviving are his wife of almost 53 years, one daughter, Dana Lippert of Huntingdon, one son Jarrett Lippert of Altoona, four grandchildren, Korrina McCormick and husband, Patrick, Miranda Sparkman, Kody Pentland, Autumn Pentland, one great granddaughter, Arienna McCormick, three sisters, Celeste Yost and husband, Ralph, in Florida, Trudy Jacob and husband Frank in Lousiana and Gretchen Vickers of Altoona. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynne Hollobaugh and one brother, Arthur Lippert. He graduated from Altoona High School, then joined the United States Navy on September 18, 1957 until September 14, 1959. During his active service, he served on the USS Escape. He retired from Lumax Industries where he was a production supervisor. He and his wife attended the Grace Fellowship Church, Altoona Campus. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8pm Monday, August 10, 2015, and from 10-11am Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at the Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, with Pastor Rod Lingenfelter, officiating.
