Shirley F. Kane, 85, Altoona, died Sunday morning at UPMC-Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Harry Fay and Mabel (Heaton) Harvey. She married James Kane on June 21, 1954. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2008. Surviving are four children: son; Don F. Bryan and wife Jeanne of Altoona, three daughters; Kimberly Sager and husband Dane of Hollidaysburg, Lisa Oblinger and husband Jeff of Altoona, Kristine Shields and husband Paul of Duncansville; nine grandchildren: Donald Bryan II, Jim Bryan, Rachael Ozereko, Karli Monberg, Rachel Sales, Anna Cobarruvias, Katy Oblinger, Cody Oblinger, and Hunter Shields; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Gail Scherden of Altoona. Shirley was a graduate of Altoona High School. During her working years, she worked as a file clerk/secretary at Blair Medical Associates and prior to that she worked at SKF and GTE Sylvania. She enjoyed bowling in leagues at Pleasant Valley Bowling Alley and also enjoyed card clubs, gardening, cooking and travelling and casino trips. Her favorite place was spending time at the beach, enjoying the ocean with family. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the 5 p.m. service Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. with the Pastor Grace Marie Ransom officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Garvey Manor.
