Leela Faye (Utley) Heidler, 85, Juniata Gap, passed away peacefully at 4:40 am, Monday, at the Altoona Center-Nursing Care after a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Leslie Cleveland and Amanda Belle (Dodson) Utley. She married George Harold Heidler, April 3, 1954 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1989. She is survived by seven children: A. Lee Lowe, George Heidler, Tim Heidler, Gary Heidler, Diane Hallinan, Miriam Colledge and husband Michael, and Colleen Cooper and husband Daniel; twelve grandchildren: Robert Rudasill, Rhonda Holland, Sheila Fink, Jennifer Cox, Timothy Heidler, Eric Heidler, Jeremy Heidler, Sean Hallinan, Chad Hallinan, Lucas Colledge, Benjamin Colledge, Jacob Colledge; thirteen great-grandchildren: Dustin Rudasill, Skylar Rudasill, Brittany Belles, Dakota Fink, Kohlton Fink, Daniel Laws, Jeremiah Laws, Sylvia Conn, Sophia Conn, Elicia Heidler, Colton Heidler, Zinnia Heidler and Cadence Heidler; and one sibling, Calvin Earl Utley. She was preceded in death by siblings Eardine Thelma, Beula Josephine, William Jacob, Geraldine Elma, and Leslie Merle; and two grandchildren: George A. Heidler and Christopher Rudasill. Leela worked and managed the Texas Hot Dogs in Altoona. She was a founding member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also an avid musician and loved singing and playing the guitar, bass guitar, piano, and accordion. Over the years she and her husband played with various country and western bands. Leela lived a full life and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Friends will be received, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc. 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held, Thursday, August 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Minister Matthew Stumpf and Minister Terry Clyde officiating. Interment at Blair Memorial Park Cemetery.
