Eleanor G. Yohn, "Sis", 86, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Juniata, passed away late Sunday evening at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Samuel C. and Margaret (Fagan) Harter. She married Henry Lewis Yohn April 9, 1952 in Altoona. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Luann M. Yohn of Jersey Shore, PA; two sons: Scott L. and wife Lisa R. (Black) of Duncansville and Mark A. and wife Pamela J. (Hillard) of Bellwood; and four grandchildren: Robert L., Larissa R., J. Michael, and Ashley M. Yohn and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings: Robert and William Harter, Dorothy Luke, and Geraldine Harten. Eleanor was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. She served on the reunion committee for many years and was in charge of the death board. She worked for the Altoona Area School District for more than 30 years of service as a bus driver of bus # 48 and was a supervisor at Altoona Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church, the Altoona Rifle and Pistol Club, where her husband and she were former caretakers, and was the Democratic Committee person for Logan Township for many years. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, doing crafts, riding motorcycle, and was an all-around jokester. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday October 28, 2015 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc. 719 N. 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Janet Sell officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
