Lou Ann Ochranek, 56, Altoona, went to be with her Lord unexpectedly Friday morning at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Glenn Hostler and the late Donna (McMinn) Hostler. She married Roger T. Ochranek, February 8, 1977 in Altoona. In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by three children: Kelly Porter and husband Stuart of Altoona, Melanie Jo Ochranek of Altoona, and Eric T. Ochranek and wife Tamara of Potsdam, NY; three grandchildren: Daniel and Lily Porter and Skylee Ochranek; two sisters: Mary Sue Flick and husband David of Chesapeake, VA and Patti Barr and husband Randy of Tipton; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Hostler and a nephew, Steven McDermott. Lou Ann was an Altoona High Graduate and completed nurses training. She worked for UPMC as a staffer. She attended Foot of Ten Baptist Church and was greatly involved with The Arc. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, painting, and the beach. She loved her family and grandchildren and loved to help others. Friends will be received, Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Huston officiating.
