Roselyn C. McCartney, 90, Lancaster, formerly of Altoona, passed away Thursday morning at Homestead Village of Lancaster.
She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine (Buck) Moran. She married John A. McCartney in New London, Conn., on November 30, 1943 and celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to his death in 2005.
Mrs. McCartney is survived by six of her seven children: Dr. Jeffrey McCartney and wife Daphne of Naples, Fla., Dr. Gary McCartney and wife Sheryl of Allentown, Pa., Stephen McCartney and wife Jane of Lancaster, Pa., Thomas McCartney and wife Pamela of Lititz, Pa., Timothy McCartney and wife Carol of Altoona, Pa., and Bonnie Robison and husband Denny of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; additionally, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased in death by a daughter, Jacqueline.
Her life’s work was devoted to her family and to that end, she worked tirelessly to assist and support every need. Her devotion to her husband, John, was exemplary and she regularly spoke warmly of him in anticipation of one day joining him again.
Services for Roselyn will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
