Alma Virginia Auker

Alma Virginia Auker, “Ginny”, AKA Virginia S. Auker, 85, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday evening at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John Edward and Alma Edith (Ernest) Spielman. She married Charles Arlon Auker, Jr. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2002.

Ginny is survived by three daughters: Suzanne Slep and husband Brad of Altoona, Janice Tunison and husband Harmon of Scotia, NY, and Marjorie Lebo and husband Dave of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren: Joshua and Matthew Lebo and Benjamin and Alex Tunison; a niece, Joyce Gonzalez; and brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Auker.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Edward Spielman, a sister, Katherine Slagle, and a brother-in-law, Wilbur Slagle.

She was an Altoona High School graduate and worked as a caregiver.

She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the chapel at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, 220 Newry Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Pastor Dennis Braun officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
