Robert “Bob” I. Beam, 89, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Mercerville, NJ, passed away early Monday morning at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home.
He was born in Huntingdon County, son of the late Oren and Margaret (Hemphill) Beam. Twice married, first to Helen I. Long who preceded him in death on February 6, 1992. Second to Patricia A. Miller, April 13, 1996 at Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, PA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lynnea Sirak and husband Christopher of Cookstown, NJ; a son, Darryl R. of Levittown, PA; two granddaughters: Laura and Megan Sirak of Cookstown, NJ; step-children: Cheryl Steiner of Hollidaysburg, Oscar K. Stuckey, III and Patrick Stuckey, both of Altoona, Linda Michael of Martinsburg, WV, Diane Youngblood of Martinsburg, WV, Deborah O’Shell of Bellwood, Karen Bubier of Duncansville, Beth Sheaffer of Myerstown and their families; 24 step-grandchildren; and 24 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters.
Bob was a graduate of Trenton Junior College and School of Industrial Arts. He retired as a tool and die maker from General Motors and was a member of Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
He served as PFC in the United States Army in Company B of the 7th Infantry Regiment.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February, 17, 2016 from 3 until the 7 p.m. funeral service at Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 1401 Frankstown Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Pastor Mark Brown Officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Trenton, NJ.
