Paul E. Rickard, Jr., 84, Altoona, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Sunday.
He was born in Fallentimber, PA, son of the late Paul E., Sr. and Margaret (Van Scoyc) Rickard. He married Fayetta Miller on December 24, 1952.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by daughters: Pamela K. Kraft (Denny) and Lee Ann Peterman (Dennis) both of Altoona; a son, Roger P. (Terrie) of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren: Michelle, Rebecca, Erica, Kalen, and Ethan; four great grandchildren: Katie, Laura, Danielle, and Christopher; a brother, Gary of Dresden, OH and a sister, Ruth of Bedford, TX.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Luther and Gordon and sisters: Ellen, Virginia, Joan, Philena, and Betty.
Paul proudly served his county in the Korean Conflict for the United States Army. He retired November 1993 as a foreman for Bomont Mills of Juniata.
Paul was an active member of Juniata United Methodist Church, was passionate about hunting, and enjoyed many wonderful vacations with his family and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. A visitation will be held from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Friday, May 27, 2016 at Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N 4th Street, Altoona, 16601. Pastor TR Hardic officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Paul’s name to the church.
